Arlene Madison, 86, of Creston, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her home in Creston.
Graveside services were held at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Pastor Delores Doench officiated. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Creston.
No public visitation was held.

Virginia Arlene Madison, daughter of Chester Peter and Edna N. (Albrite) Bryson was born July 7, 1930 in Hepburn in Page County, Ia. Arlene graduated from Bedford High School in 1949. On December 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Madison in Bedford, Ia. where they settled for a short time before moving near Prescott.
In 1959 Arlene moved to Creston and began working as a school cook at Franklin Elementary School. She retired after 30 years but continued to help out and volunteer in kindergarten classes for 9 years.
Arlene was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Creston.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda (husband Jim) Randall of Mondamin, Ia., Kathy Madison and Jan (husband Bob) Cottrell of Creston; a son, Robert Madison, Jr. (significant other Julie Hover) of Creston; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Madison in 1992, three sisters, Mae Bryson, Ora Connell and Mary Lou Gordon and two brothers, Charlie and Harold Bryson.
