Sterling Sharp, 12, of Creston died March 15, 2018 in Tulum, Mexico.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Southwestern Community College Gymnasium in Creston. Pastor Mary O'Riley and Pastor Rick Titus will officiate.
Burial will be private at Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston.
Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30 at the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Ave. in Creston.
No family night is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are for a SWCC Scholarship, the Creston Basketball Association, the Creston Softball & Baseball League, the Padded Football League, the Creston Brownie Troop 971 and the Creston Boy Scouts. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.
Sterling Wayne Sharp was born on February 19, 2006, in Des Moines, Ia., a son to Kevin Wayne Sharp and Amy Marie (Major) Sharp. He was a 6th grader at the Creston Middle School. Sterling attended Cromwell Church and was active in athletics with the Creston Schools. Additionally he was involved in Creston Basketball Association, Creston Baseball League, the Padded Football League, Creston Boy Scouts and Crestmoor Junior Golf.
Sterling is survived by his grandparents, Ken and Carol Sharp of Creston; Beth and Roger Fry of Creston; Ed and Bobbi Major of Bellevue, Neb.; dog Buster; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
