Merv Richardson, 80, of Creston, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Jodi Rushing will officiate.
Family requests your presence at a luncheon for time of fellowship following the service also at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Merwyn Loy Richardson was born on March 6, 1937, in Gravity, Ia., a son to James Estle Richardson and Leta Merle (Burch) Richardson. He graduated from Bedford High School with the class of 1955.
On June 30, 1957, Merv was united in marriage to Mary Anne Johnston in Lenox at the Presbyterian Church. He worked as a surveyor for several years for the Iowa Highway Commission then decided to further his education at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degree from there in Industrial Education with a minor in Psychology and Math.
He began his teaching career in Omaha, Neb. and then taught industrial education at Beveridge, Bancroft and McMillen Junior High Schools where he also taught some math. Merv retired after 29 years from Omaha Public School Systems in 1993 and from there he and Mary moved back to Creston. In his retirement, Merv enjoyed wood working and traveling, especially to Estes Park, Colo. He was also a handy man, able to fix mostly anything.
Merv is survived by his wife Mary of Creston; two daughters, Tammy (husband Bill) Reed of Valley, Neb. and Teresa (husband Wayne) Lund of Bellville, TX; two grandchildren, Debrah (husband David) Colmenero of Thorndale, TX and Jeremy Reed of Valley, Neb.; two great-grandchildren, Micheal Naron and Autumn Naron of Thorndale, TX; two brothers, Lowell (wife Doris) Richardson of Ames and James (wife Elaine) Richardson of Denison, Ia.; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Cecil Richardson and Duane Richardson.
