Mary Carson, 75, of Creston, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Southern Hills Specialty Care, in Osceola.
Celebration of Life services will be from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday September 30, 2016 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston near the junction of highways 25 and 34. Rev. John Rutz will officiate.

Mary Elizabeth Carson was born on July 10, 1941 in Fontanelle, Ia., and a daughter to Dean Arthur Darrow and Jean Lucille (Acker). Mary graduated from Bridgewater - Fontanelle High School.
In August of 1972, Mary was united in marriage to Dean Theodore Carson in Creston, Ia. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. They settled in Creston where she worked for Strauss Ladies Clothing as a retail associate, and later worked at Cablevision. She also worked for Bunn-O-Matic on the line and Wellman-Dynamics as a part of the foundry production line. Finally she worked on the production line at Ferrara Candy Company until her retirement in 2006. Mary loved to read and shop in her spare time. Mary was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mary is survived by her husband Dean Carson of Creston; daughter Jodi Fagen of Huxley; son Jerry (wife Vicki) Carson of Des Moines; a sister Sue Thompson of Leon; four grandchildren, Jason Jungst of Elkhart, Ia., Jamie Jungst of Slater, Ia., Travis (wife Amber) Jungst of Slater, Ia. and Garrett Fagen of Huxley, Ia.; two step-grandchildren, Julie Malcom of Mt. Ayr, Ia. and Ronda Evans of Diagonal, Ia.; three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon (husband Merlyn) Linthicum and her brother-in-law George Thompson.
