Louise Brandt, 90, of Afton, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Afton Care Center.
Celebration of life services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Powers Funeral Home 612 N. Dodge in Afton. Dwayne Henrichs will officiate.
Burial will be at the Blakesburg Cemetery in Blakesburg, Ia.
Open visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home in Afton.

Louise Elizabeth Augusta Brandt was born on April 7, 1926 in Argonne, S.D., a daughter to Otto Frederick Kudart and Laura Magdelena Marie (Scharman) Kudart. She attended rural school by Rose Hill, Ia and later her family moved to Blakesburg, Ia., and it was there that she met her future husband.
Louise was united marriage to Gerald E."Sam" Brandt on September 30, 1944, in Albia, Ia. Louise was a homemaker and helped her husband with farm work. They lived in the Grand River area until retiring and moving to Afton in 1990. Sam died in 1999. Louise later moved to the Afton Care Center in March of 2013.
Survivors include her three sons, Harold (wife Phyllis) Brandt of Waterloo, Terry (wife Mary) Brandt of Osceola and Jim (wife Lori) Brandt of Winterset; a daughter, Deborah Brandt of Afton; ten grandchildren, Nichelle (husband Ray) Bunkofski of Waterloo, Kurt Brandt of Waterloo, Raina Brandt of Creston, Gabe McWilliams (Karen Barber) of Cromwell, Lindsey (husband Johnny) Campbell of Decatur, Jennifer Brandt (Colton Offield) of Decatur, Cody Brandt of Osceola, Shalyn Brandt of Osceola, Amy Strain of Cedar Falls and Ethan Strain of Winterset; ten great-grandchildren; and brother Walter (wife Marilyn) Kudart of Ottumwa.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald in 1999, brother Robert Kudart, sisters, Ruth Runnells and Lillian Espy and great grandson Samuel.
