Gary Veitz, 59, of Creston, died Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.
Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Tony Thurston will officiate.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston.
Open visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Gary Dean Veitz, a son to Barbara Jean (Nicola) Veitz and Albert Veitz, was born on June 22, 1957 in Sedalia, Mo. He graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1975 and obtained his Bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo.
Gary was united in marriage to Debra Sue Adams on November 13, 1982 in Creston. They were blessed with two children, Jeff and Lindsey. Gary was a teacher and taught for two years in Maxwell and then in 1982 they moved to Creston where he taught math for 34 years. He retired on May 31, 2016.
Gary was a member of the First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ, Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge, all in Creston.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Deb of Creston; son Jeff (wife Jenny) Veitz of Creston; daughter Lindsey Veitz of Storm Lake; two granddaughters, Payton and Riley Veitz; mother Barbara Veitz of Creston; brother Michael (wife Jill) Veitz of Onalaska, Wis.; sister-in-law Vicki (husband Lee) Jobe of Red Oak; brother-in-law Terry (wife Diane) Adams of Red Oak; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Albert, mother and father-in-law Otto and Dorothy Adams and brother-in-law Brian Adams.
