Donald Brown, 62, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Creston, died Wednesday October 26, 2016 at Mayo Medical Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Celebration of life services will be 11a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Rev. Aaron Wager will officiate.
Burial will be at the Murray Cemetery in Murray, Ia.
Visitation with family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, service time. Memorials can be directed to the family. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.
Donald Louis Brown son of Leland C. Brown and Myrtle Velva (Smith) Brown was born March 4, 1954 in Leon, Ia. Donald attended East Union Community Schools later attending Southwestern Community College receiving extended training in robotics. Early on, Don worked as a manager of Happy Chef in Creston.
On September 1, 1978, Donald Brown was united in marriage to Jotie Lynn Wicks in Des Moines. They settled in Conway where Don worked as a service technician for Bi State Electronics for seven years. Don later worked as an Industrial electrician first at Wellman Dynamics in Creston, and later for West Liberty Foods in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator, assisting with area fireworks displays, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife Jotie; four children, Sarah (husband Steve) Epperson of Ranson, W.Va., Joshua (wife Jennifer) Brown of Ankeny, Bethany Brown (significant other Luke Wayman) of Des Moines, Ia. and Jordan Brown (Branden Wager of Rochester, Minn.; ten grandchildren; two great granddaughters; one brother Richard (wife Janet) Brown of Creston; two sisters, Mary Anderson of Bovey, Minn. and Margaret Hawxby of Bland, Mo.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Myrtle Brown
