Daniel Young Blood, 71, of Creston, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at the Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at the Powers Funeral Home junction of highway 34 & 25 in Creston. Pastor William Richardson will officiate.

Daniel Allen Youngblood, son to Ruth (Murer) Newburn and Joe Newburn, was born on January 17, 1945 in Clearfield, Ia. He grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Clearfield High School. Daniel traveled frequently relocating to new areas and found work during his stay. He worked as a hunting guide in Montana and was a day laborer while in Chicago.
On March 14, 2008, Daniel married Rosemary Ilene (Shoemaker) Carter in Afton. They made their home in the Creston area.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Young Blood of Creston; three step-granddaughters, Sarah (husband Mike) Casey of Granois, Mo., Jeannie Briner of Bethany, Mo. and Joyce Gracia of Kansas; two step-sons, Rod Briner of Eagleville, Mo. and Nick Briner of Des Moines; 8 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marsha of Newton and two best friends, Britt Wilson and Don Wilson.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.
