Dale Gene Wagner was born on December 17, 1943, to Lloyd L. Wagner and Grace A. (Vining) Wagner in Pocahontas, Ia. After attending Rolfe School for several years in Rolfe, he graduated from Humboldt High School in 1962.

On April 14, 1962, Dale was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Patricia Marie Behrendsen. To this union five children were born, Kevin, Chris, Cory, Kolby and Kim. They lived on a farm south of Rolfe. Dale was a mover and they moved several times in their married life living in Pocahontas, Buena Vista, Humboldt, Palo Alto, Taylor, Calhoun counties and finally Union County; all in Iowa. For a short period of time they also lived in Ft. Collins, Colo. where he attended Colorado State University. He worked for several elevator systems and he was awarded the Friends of Agriculture Award.

He was a high school religion teacher and this was the job he truly enjoyed. He loved working with the young people by helping to bring Christ into their lives.
Dale is survived by his wife Pat; children, Kevin (wife Ann) Wagner of Gilmore City, Ia., Chris (husband Steve) Wintermute of Creston, Kolby (wife Joan) Wagner of Rockwell City, Ia. and Kim (husband Kevin) Minnis of Ankeny; daughter-in-law Jolene Royster of Earlham. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Keegan (wife Soraya) Wagner, Ashton Wagner, Kiley Wagner (fiancé Ben), Bobby (wife Stephani) Wintermute, Kacie Wintermute, Jake Royster (fiancé Tabitha), Tyler Wagner, Faith Wagner, Jayden Minnis and Josie Minnis; two great-grandchildren, Cory Wintermute and Elliot Wagner; twin brother Dennis Wagner of Rolfe; sisters, Judy (husband Larry) Larson of Spirit Lake, Ia. and Barb (husband Kenny) Bennett of Rolfe; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Mary and Ray Shimon of Pocahontas and Butch and Colleen Behrendsen of Gilmore City; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dale had a love for God and farming Gods fields. He loved canoeing, camping, watching his sons' tractor and pickup pull and just enjoying his grandchildren. He loved his trips to Branson and the far west. He had a large farm toy collection that was his forte. He also loved writing with a sharpie on things that say "for keep", "save", "might be good some day", "antique". The kids loved this and it will be a memory never to be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Grace Wagner, Father and mother in law Iver and Cecelia Behrendsen, his sister in law Delores Wagner and his loving son Cory.
