Cynthia Lorraine McCloud was born on December 13, 1951, in Baudette, Minn.; a daughter to Harold Leroy McCloud and Emma Mae (Sandveit) McCloud. Cynthia was educated at the Lake of the Woods School in Baudette, Minn. and graduated from there in 1970. After graduation, Cynthia resided in Sharpsburg, Iowa, moving to Creston, Iowa in 2010.

Cyndi took classes at SWCC for CNA and obtained her certificate. She was employed at the Lenox Care Center where she worked there for many years as a CNA and in the dietary department. She dedicated her life to helping people and was a care giver for many people in their homes while they were sick.

She enjoyed spending time with her fiancé Michael and loved being surrounded by her large family. Cyndi had a heart of gold, never had an unkind word about anyone, willing to help in any way she could. The compassion and love she gave so freely will continue to live on in everyone whose life she touched. Cynthia recently moved to Creston, Iowa where she enjoyed playing cards at Regency Apartments and Bingo at the Creston Meal Site. She enjoyed playing games and cards with her family and friends. She called and visited her mom daily and her mother was truly her best friend.

While recovering at a rehab center in Des Moines, Cyndi met Michael Smith who was visiting his brother. They became close friends. Michael made many trips to Creston to spend time with Cyndi and she enjoyed their time together. Michael and Cyndi were to be united in marriage, but her health declined and the wedding had to be postponed.

We grieve today and the days ahead as we remember, love and cherish Cyndi and the void that she has left behind, especially as we learn to live without her.
Cyndi is survived by her fiancé Michael Smith of Des Moines; mother Emma McCloud of Creston; three brothers, Jeff (wife Judy) McCloud of St. Joseph, Mo., Greg (wife Belinda) McCloud of Denton, TX and Mark McCloud of Rocky Mound, N.C.; five sisters, Belinda (husband Kevin) Lindley of Creston, Sherry (husband Lee) Newport of Grand Island, Neb., Patty (husband Ken) Mottin of Grand Island, Neb., Kitty (husband Randy) Peterman of Gravity and Sandra Donaldson (Jere Ferguson) of Lenox; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Harold McCloud, brother-in-law John Donaldson, nephew Clinton McCloud and great-nephews, Carter and Kaleb Zellmer.
