Amy Sharp, 38, of Creston, died March 15, 2018 in Tulum, Mexico.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Southwestern Community College Gymnasium in Creston. Pastor Mary O'Riley and Pastor Rick Titus will officiate.

Burial will be private at Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston.

Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30 at the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Ave. in Creston. No family night is scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are for a SWCC Scholarship, Creston Basketball Association, Creston Softball & Baseball, Padded Football League, Creston Brownie Troop 971 and the Creston Boy Scouts. Online condolences can be given at People attending the service are asked to dress in comfortable, everyday clothes, including Iowa, Iowa State or other college, sports and racing apparel.

Amy Marie (Major) Sharp, daughter of Beth Ann (Pullen) Major and Edison E. Major, was born April 23, 1979 in Creston. She was welcomed home by her sister Renee. In March of 1983, Amy was lucky enough to gain her second dad, Roger Fry, as well as receiving a big brother 'Lil Roger. Amy spent her life in Creston living each day to the fullest. In high school, Amy started working at A & G Restaurant as a waitress and bartender. Amy made friends with everyone she served. After high school, she went on to waitress at Red Lobster in Des Moines, Making the drive to and from Des Moines each time she was scheduled to work. She continued to also devote any time she could to A & G.

On June 23, 2001, Amy was united in marriage to Kevin Sharp in Las Vegas, joined by Amy and Kevin's family. Amy worked for the Union County Recorder's office in Creston. Amy later accepted a position with Principal where she worked from home as a Dental Claims Specialist.
Amy's pride and joy joined her life on February 19, 2006 as her and Kevin welcomed Sterling Wayne Sharp into this world. On May 17, 2010, Amy & Kevin welcomed their princess Adrianna Marie into this world. They completed Amy & Kevin's family, until December 2015, when Buster joined the family. Amy, Kevin, Sterling and Adrianna were called home from earth on March 15. The family was doing what they loved… vacationing. Amy attended the Cromwell Congregational United Church of Christ and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her parents, Beth & Roger Fry of Creston and Ed & Bobbi Major of Bellevue, Neb.; maternal grandmother, Jan Pullen of Red Oak; sister, Renee (Glen) Hoyt of Creston, special sister, Yvonne Michel of Switzerland; and sister, Samantha (Roel) Ruiz of Yucca Valley, Calif.; brother, Roger (Rebecca) Fry of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister-in-law, Amy (Chris) Kralik of Creston; brother-in-law, Kurtis (wife Naomi) Sharp; nieces, Kacie (Zack) Schaefer, Kayleann Bishop and Jacy Kralik; nephews, Jake Hoyt, Cael Kralik, Ryder, Easton Sharp Derek Fry and Deren Fry; great nephews, Bentley and Coy Schaefer; 4 legged fur baby, Buster; along with many cousins, friends and extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edison and Geraldine Major and Bill Stitzel and Clara Ellen Fry, great-grandparents, Edith and Wilbur Mattes and Jesse and Ethel Burroughs and cousin Cory Morrison.
